I have some exciting news to share! Thanks to the 640 individual donors who either newly joined our efforts or increased their level of support to help us raise $250,000, we have reached our goal in the Hamill Family Foundation Matching Challenge! The Hamill Family Foundation will be adding $500,000 to the total given by all who participated in the challenge, tripling those donations.
The 777 actual gifts ranging from $1 to $25,000 that helped us earn this match will have a profound impact on the future and the programs of The Conservation Foundation. Thanks to these donors' generosity and the incredible faith the Hamill Family Foundation has showed in our organization through this match, we will be able to expand our efforts to save nature in your neighborhood.
Beyond that, striving towards this goal has encouraged us to stretch and grow as an organization. We’ve brought a lot of new people into The Conservation Foundation, and gotten to know many of our long-standing donors quite a bit better. The enthusiasm match contributors showed for our mission by collectively reaching this matching gift goal and inquiring as to our progress along the journey was a huge morale boost for myself, my staff and our Board of Trustees. If you were one of our match donors or someone who asked how the match was going, your response is proof that our work matters to you.
It has been an exciting year, but the best is yet to come. I can’t begin to thank everyone who contributed to help us reach our match goal and the three siblings who make up the Hamill Family Foundation – Betsy Bramsen, Jonathan Hamill and Nancy Hamill Winter (pictured L to R above with me). And I promise that we will put your money to work for the good of the people, wildlife and wild lands of northeastern Illinois.
Thank you again for everything you have done to support The Conservation Foundation.
