Several residents of Glen Ellyn have taken the message of our Conservation@Home program to heart, and brought it to life in their home landscapes. Come enjoy the fruits of their labor at a June 23rd Garden Walk.
Join us from 9am to Noon on Saturday, June 23rd for a chance to see beautiful native plant and rain gardens throughout Glen Ellyn. To start the day there will be a brief presentation about the benefits of rain gardens, native plants and creating sustainable yards at the Maryknoll Park Clubhouse (845 Pershing Avenue, Glen Ellyn). Learn why native plants are so beneficial, popular species, and also how you, too, can become a Conservation@Home-certified site!
We will then enjoy a tour of the Maryknoll Park's native gardens, and then you can head out into the neighborhoods with the provided map of local residences that have incorporated rain gardens, native plantings and other sustainable practices in their home landscapes.
This event is free, but registration is required.
