Farm Camp - Dickson-Murst Farm, Montgomery
This week-long day camp will introduce your child to both the historic and modern methods and aspects of farming and farm life with the backdrop of the Dickson-Murst farmstead. Our one-week session will run June 25th to 29th from 9am to 3pm daily and include a wide variety of activities, crafts, demonstrations, hands-on learning opportunities and ways to get dirt on your boots!
- Butter Making and Candle Making
- Past and Present Farm Chore Lessons
- Screen-Free Time Outdoors
- County Fair Day, Including Making Ice Cream
The rural lifestyle is a part of our region's cultural heritage, but we have become further and further removed from that heritage as the area has developed and modernized. Help your child or a child in your care get in touch with the past and where their food comes from through this week-long camp experience!
Special thanks to the Dickson-Murst Farm Partners and experts from the Kendall County Outdoor Education Center for helping to staff this camp, along with Environmental Educators from The Conservation Foundation!
