Jan Roehll

Jan graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Landscape Architecture.  Before coming to The Conservation Foundation, she worked for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County.  She first developed the master plans for the preserves and she was responsible for the planning and development of the trail system in the preserves.  She then transitioned into land acquisition where she directed the department until 2001. At that time, she left the Forest Preserve District to raise her two children.

In 2011, Jan started doing volunteer work at The Conservation Foundation and was then hired in 2012 as the DuPage County Program Director.  Through two grants, she worked with government agencies to develop an open space plan for DuPage County.  She has transitioned into working with DuPage County Stormwater Management on their many programs, workshops and seminars to improve water quality in the county.

She is now working to implement the open space plan, by contacting property owners to see if they have an interest in preserving their property.  Jan loves to be outdoors working in her gardens or hiking and biking in the preserves and parks.
