Join us at McDonald Farm for a delightful day at our annual Fall Market & Music Fest, where we are blending two of our community’s favorite events —Music on the Farm and our annual Green Earth Fall Community Market! Discover all the wonderful things happening on the farm, including a local-farms-only mini-farmers market featuring Green Earth Harvest’s certified organic veggies plus an array of other local goods from our farmshare partners including fruit, organic sourdough bread, local eggs, mushrooms, organic flour, grains & beans, specialty flowers, and more!

 

Drop in for a bit or spend the afternoon enjoying live music, children’s activities, farm tours, Tent Talks, and plenty of delicious, local food. We can’t wait to see you on the farm!

 

Mini-Farmer’s Market:

 

Music on the Lawn
  • 1:00 – 3:30pm: Live music by Triple Replay Band, an acoustic guitar and vocal harmony group, bringing you a variety of your favorite tunes from all genres!

 

Food Trucks

 

Children’s Activities
  • 1:00 — 3:30pm: Meet our educators in the Sensory Garden for nature-inspired, self-directed activities for kids of all ages!

 

Tent Talks (~15 minutes)

The Buzz About Bees
1:00pm, 2:00pm & 3:00pm
Join Beekeeper, Pete Soltesz of Illinois Bee Rescue, to explore the fascinating world of bees, from the social structure of colonies — with female workers running the hive — to the role of nutrition and pollination in honey production and the larger human food system. Each session will be around 20 minutes.
Location: Meet Pete at his bee booth around the circle drive.

 

Conservation@Home: Easy Ways to Help Nature Thrive
1:00pm, 2:00pm & 3:00pm
Join our Conservation@Home expert, Beth Peluse, for a fifteen-minute chat including top tips to support pollinators and quick wins for conservation, right in your own yard.
Location: Meet Beth at The Conservation Foundation booth around the circle drive.

 

Explore the Edible Forest Garden Guided Tours
1:30pm & 2:30pm
Join Connie Kollmeyer, The Conservation Foundation Educator, in McDonald Farm’s Edible Forest Garden for a 20-minute guided tour of all that’s growing in this unique space.
Location: Meet Connie in the Edible Forest Garden located behind the two-story Clow House on the north side of the event near the parking area.

 

Eat Like a Local: How to Bring Our Certified Organic, Farm-Fresh Food to Your Table

Join our Green Earth Harvest team for a flavorful peek into our certified organic seasonal farmshare subscriptions. Learn how they can be tailored to your lifestyle, schedule, and palate — all while delighting your senses, inspiring your cooking, and connecting you more deeply with your food and the farmers who grow it.
Location:  Meet us at our booth next to our farm stand in the circle drive.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Local, Organic Farming
