October 5, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Native Bees: Why are they important and how can we help them?

Have you ever wondered what kind of bees are visiting your flowers? What do they look like and how important are they to our local flora and fauna? Join Glenn Perticone of the DuPage Forest Preserve and Jim Kleinwachter of The Conservation Foundation as they discuss native bees and the role that our backyards and communities can play in helping them by planting pollinator gardens.

At this webinar, we will also recognize two local park districts that are protecting native bees and butterflies with new habitat and increasing community awareness of the plight of pollinators. The Lisle Park District will be recognized for the Oak Regeneration Project and Fox Valley Park District for offering diverse educational programs and hands-on opportunities for learning about beneficial insects.
