BioBlitz at O’Hara Woods
Romeoville, IL
Saturday, April 23rd, 2022
Join us for our second annual BioBlitz at O’Hara Woods on Saturday, April 23rd from 8:00am – 12:00pm! This is an event where volunteers are encouraged to walk the woods and take pictures of whatever living things you find, including plants, birds, mushrooms, etc. We hosted a BioBlitz last year and we want to continue to cataloging what lives at O’Hara Woods.
This event will utilize a free-to-use phone app called iNaturalist to take pictures of any and all life that’s out on site, help identify what you’ve found, and post their locations to a map for other folks to see. We will use the observations you find to help inform how we manage O’Hara Woods in the future. This is a great family friendly project: all you need is a smartphone!
Register for the 2022 O’Hara Woods Bioblitz!
About a week before the event, we will send an email with details for the day and instructions for downloading and using the iNaturalist app. Please email Cassie Hatzfeld, Volunteer Coordinator, at [email protected] with questions.
