Webinar – Fox River Dams: Should We Live With Them? Can We Live Without Them

May 21, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Most of the dams built on the Fox River were constructed in the latter half of the 19th century for power generation or industry. But what function do they provide today, 140 years later? This webinar is an introductory presentation about how the presence of dams – in this case on the Fox River – influence water quality, habitat, and fish assemblages of this defining feature of the Fox River valley where it serves as a recreation, aesthetics, flood conveyance, and drinking water resource. Our speakers are assembling some great information to help us understand the role dams continue to play in the Fox River. Please join us!

Speakers

Steve Pescitelli, Streams Specialist with ILDNR Division of Fisheries

Karen Clementi, Regulatory and Public Outreach Manager, Fox Metro Water Reclamation District, Board member-Fox River Study Group
