New Canoe Launch for Lisle Park District

Lisle Park District is officially opening their new public boat launch with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, September 11th at 10:00am. The celebration is being held at the at Lisle Community Park, 1825 Short Street. The boat launch is on the East Branch DuPage River, south of Short Street and west of the Short Street bridge, accessible from the parking lot near Baseball Field #1.

The ribbon cutting event is open to the public and will include a short ceremony, various giveaways, and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will be present performing free vessel safety checks & handing out boating safety materials. Additionally, you will have a chance to enter into a raffle by the Lisle Partners for Parks Foundation for 2 new kayaks!

 

This highly anticipated project was made possible through the Lisle Partners for Parks Foundation with their generous $15,000 contribution and from a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) through the Boat Access Area Development (BAAD) program.
