Thanks to Benedictine University Dietetic Intern Amanda Ruddy for sharing this recipe. Amanda says, “This item is kid friendly because kids love getting a treat such as a nice milkshake or dessert. However, this smoothie is jam packed with nutrients and still tastes delicious!”
1 contained of lemon nonfat yogurt
2 cups of cubed watermelon
1 pint of fresh strawberries
1 medium banana
In a blender or a food processor, combine the yogurt, watermelon, strawberries and banana until smooth and frothy. Then, either serve immediately as a smoothie or pour into small paper cups or an ice tray, insert a popsicle stick and freeze. Once frozen, enjoy!
Serves 4.
