DuPage Environmental Summit:
Conservation 2.0: New Perspectives on Reconnecting with Nature
The virtual DuPage Environmental Summit is back once again on Thursday, January 16th on Zoom! This year’s summit will focus on Conservation 2.0*, or the shift from protecting nature from people to protecting nature with and for people. Research shows that our human disconnection from nature impacts our mental and physical health and contributes to many of our environmental problems. Presenters will tell personal stories of (re)connecting with the natural world, showcase partnerships that bring new people out into open spaces, and offer activities you can do so that you can know, love, and work to protect our vital natural resources. The summit is free and open to everyone, but you must register at the Zoom link below.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants understand the conservation movement [then and now] and recognize how new leaders are helping to create healthy people and whole communities while building support for conservation.
- Participants are inspired to take direct actions at work or at home to deepen their relationship with the land with their hearts, minds, and everyday choices.
- Participants are inspired to support local organizations and collaborations that help create healthy people and whole communities.
