A post from our President/CEO Brook McDonald:

Don’t forget to attend the 2014 DuPage Energy Summit this Thursday, January 23,Noon to 5pm at Hotel Arista in Naperville.  The topic of the Energy Summit is “Making DuPage a ‘Cool County’: A Plan for Energy and Economic Stability.”

DuPage County is developing a greenhouse gas emissions reduction plan with the goal of reducing GHG emissions 10 percent by 2020 and 20 percent by 2030 from 2007 levels.  That’s pretty ambitious!

The DuPage Energy Summit is an opportunity to discuss with those representatives and other community members how the County can, through collaboration, reduce emissions and improve the quality of life in DuPage County.  Speakers will present specific, local success stories about reducing vehicle miles traveled, increasing energy efficiency at various scales and gaining funding.

The FREE summit is open to the public, but is especially intended for local municipalities, businesses, school districts, hotels, retailers and representatives from manufacturing and industrial sectors. To see the agenda and register, click here.
