Strengthening Our Foundation: Growing Food, Growing Connection

The COVID-19 pandemic has put a whole new focus on local food.  Thanks to Lenore McDonald’s McDonald Farm land donation, the hard work of our farm crew, and the support of our members and donors, our Green Earth Harvest organic farming program was able to meet this demand
and feed more than 600 local families
during the 2020 growing season.
As many of our Green Earth Harvest shareholders and farmstand patrons have shared with us, they may come to McDonald Farm to pick up vegetables, but they leave with a whole lot more.  From u-pick days to organic meat and egg vendors to distanced pizza nights to peaceful scenery and room to explore, picking up vegetables has become a true experience, nourishing to both body and soul at a time when we all need it!

In this season of Thanksgiving, we are so thankful
for the gift of McDonald Farm and the support of our members and donors,
and all we have been able to grow because of those gifts.

Healthy food grown in a sustainable way means
healthy bodies, preserved traditions,
and thriving communities.

Your gift to the
Strengthening Our Foundation $75K Challenge
will enable us to safely grow and distribute even more healthy organic food to the local community,
while also connecting people to the land and each other.

If we can raise $75,000 of new, or additional, money by the end of the year, the Hamill Family Foundation will match that $75,000,
doubling your donation
and the impact we can have together.
